The EBAss practice exam
As you may already know EBAss
in association with the European Baromedical College (EBC) has launched
a European Hyperbaric accreditation scheme; this scheme became active in
January 2010.
This scheme will provide certification of
hyperbaric personnel to three levels; European
Certified Hyperbaric
chamber Operator ECHCO or European Certified Hyperbaric Registered Nurse (ECHRN) &
European Certified Hyperbaric Registered Intensive Care Nurse (ECHRNIC) and will
be proof that personnel who successfully complete the examinations have
demonstrated competence in their chosen field.
The examination of the candidate is in two steps: theory and practical.
The theory examination is based on multiple choice questions as compiled
by ECB/EBAss. All questions will be at the required level for the
qualification according to the EBAss resource manual. Before
progressing to the practical examination, the candidate needs to achieve
at least 70% for the theory examination. The practical examination
will involve a practical situation/problem that the candidate will be
required to solve.
The recommended situations are listed by EBAss which can be found in the
resource manual. Following successful completion of the above the
candidate can apply for certification of the ECB/EBAss.
Successful candidates will be able to use
this certification to prove competence when applying for positions in
hyperbaric treatment centres throughout Europe.
Please follow the link below to attempt the
EBAss/EBC European Certified Hyperbaric Chamber Operator (ECHCO)
practice examination; once the examination is complete (it is only 15
questions) we would very much value your feedback using the form that is
available on completion of the test.
All questions for the test have been taken
from the EBAss/ECHM Resources Manual, the European Code of Good Practice
for Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy, European Norms or the Handbook for
Hyperbaric Medicine (Daniel Mathieu).
